Get Up & Shake Your Booty

Here is a fun & easy way to pick yourself up when you are utterly exhausted but need to get sh*t done or are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Easy movement is the best thing to increase your energy in an instant.

Trust me, I know how fibromyalgia can suck every last drop of motivation out of you.  The fatigue of fibromyalgia can make just getting up to go to the bathroom seem impossible.  But if you can muster up an ounce of effort, you can turn your day around in just a minute or two.

The secret weapon against fatigue and malaise is to shake your booty!

The Qigong Shake is a simple exercise that you can do any time, any where. Just stand with your feet about shoulder distance apart and gently shake your body in an up and down motion.  Softly bend and straighten your knees, let your arms hang loosely, shake your hands and enjoy the whole body movement.

There are no rules. Just have fun!

Try to stay relaxed and feel all the tension in your body bounce away.  You can lift your feet up one at a time or keep them planted.  You can rotate your torso side to side. You can bounce at whatever pace is comfortable.

And if the movement isn’t enough, turn on some good, uplifting music.

Here are a few happy tunes for your listening pleasure.  Some of these have a quick tempo that is more invigorating than relaxing.  So you may want to simply listen and sing along.

  • “Happy” by Pherrell Williams
  • “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas
  • “Gone, Gone, Gone,” by Phillip Phillips
  • “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey
  • “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars
  • “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie
  • “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson
  • “Firework” by Katy Perry
