Essential oils are the concentrated essence of plants. They contain potent chemical compounds with a myriad of healing properties. Essential oils improve overall wellness so are helpful for people with chronic conditions like fibromyalgia.
While many individuals may choose to use essential oils instead of pharmaceuticals, essential oils have not been evaluated by the FDA. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Some of the essential oils commonly used to reduce discomfort, help soothe, uplift and support overall wellness:
Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, clary sage (one of my faves!), eucalyptus, frankincense, ginger, helichrysum, lavender, marjoram, orange, peppermint, Roman chamomile, sandalwood, vetiver, ylang ylang
How to use essential oils:
- Apply topically (some oils need to be diluted in a carrier oil or lotion)
- Take internally (make sure to use only pure, unadulterated oils)
